President Yoon Suk-yeol will hold a press conference in time for the second anniversary of his inauguration to suggest his plans for the remainder of his five-year term.

Yoon’s spokesperson Kim Soo-kyung told reporters Monday that Yoon will hold a media conference in the morning as he marks the second anniversary in the presidential office. Before the conference, Yoon will discuss his administration’s performance over the past two years and outline his plans for the next three years in an address to the public.

He will brief on policy drives on a televised setting starting at 10 a.m. from his office, and will come downstairs afterward to the briefing room to take reporters’ questions. Kim will be the host of the press conference. When reporters raise their hands to ask questions, Kim will choose to do so. However, the spokesperson said there will be no coordination with reporters in advance.

The Q&A session is expected to take about an hour, up from 50 minutes at the press conference on the 100th day of his inauguration. “The president has expressed his willingness to increase communication with the public through the media. The press conference is aimed at giving detailed explanations about what the public wants to know as well as some misunderstanding,” an official at the presidential office said.

Ahead of his preparation for the press conference, Yoon told his aides, “I believe there will be questions on every topic possible” and added, “Let’s prepare questions that the people are curious about rather than typical questions such as how I feel about the second anniversary of my inauguration.”
